As cable television seasons come to an end, networks get busy with spring cleaning for their 2016 fall lineup. Upfronts unveiled which shows will not be returning later this year for a new season.
The network with the most cutbacks is ABC, which nixed fan-favorite shows Castle and Nashville and less popular shows The Muppets and The Family. Fox, on the other hand, debuted several new comedies in the past season and axed freshman series’ The Grinder, Grandfathered, Bordertown and Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life. CBS pulled the plug on the last standing, albeit low-rated, CSI series: CSI: Cyber.
