There are already many Sim games out there, but it looks like another one is arriving soon. This time, it's all about strays and rescues. Animal Shelter Simulator is set to be released through Steam in the first quarter of 2022.
While there are still some months left before the game comes out, there's a way to try out the game early via Animal Shelter: Prologue is out, which you can get here.
As you would expect from the title, players go through each step of the process of rescuing animals. It all starts from saving our four-legged friends to taking challenges that come with high rewards.
After getting your hands on abandoned and injured animals, you must bathe them. After all, good hygiene is the first step when it comes to better health. Next, manage the animals and ensure that everything is in order. It's not enough to let them stay in the shelter, so do the good old-fashioned walk to stimulate and entertain the animals.
The thing about this game is that every success means additional challenges. The goal is to turn these challenges into opportunities to upgrade the facilities to meet the ever-growing needs of the animals.
The final objective is to find a way for these animals to be part of a new and loving home.

Helping in the Real World
Besides the game, there are also real-world actions being done. Developer Games Incubator is donating $2,000 to five shelters of the community’s choice. From December 25 to January 9, players can cast their votes for the selected shelter. The shelters with the highest votes will be chosen.
In a press statement, Games Incubator CEO Marek Parzyński shared that Animal Shelter Simulator is more than just a game. Through it, Parzyński revealed that they wanted to raise awareness of homeless animals. This is also the reason why they decided to donate to a shelter chosen by the community.
