The newest tank, Emma Frost, combines psychic manipulation and physical brawn. She not only excels as a defensive beast but is also a legit brawler that makes flankers second-guess themselves before diving in.
Why Emma Frost Is the Best Counter to Dive Heroes
Season 2 of "Marvel Rivals" surprised us with an Emma Frost launch. The Marvel character, who is also known as the White Queen, is designed specifically to punish aggressive divers.
What's interesting here is that she has two forms, which are comic-accurate. Her kit in its dual form allows her to switch from a mid-range support tank into close-quarters horror.
If your back is being overrun, switching to her diamond form makes her a juggernaut with crowd control abilities specifically aimed at shutting down high-mobility foes.
In her standard form, Emma employs Psychic Spear which deals damage and steals enemy consciousness, doubling damage dealt. She also has the Mind's Aegis which serves as an offensive shield to block incoming damage.
Aside from these two skills, her Telepathic Pulse can attack airborne foes and pressure frontline tanks.

Becoming her diamond state doesn't merely cut incoming damage — it opens up a whole new set of tools. According to PC Gamer, her Carbon Crush can chokeslam an opponent to the ground.
For a high-damage output, Emma Frost can launch Crystal Kick to push enemies away. If you're more of a puncher, her Faceted Fury will do the job during the melee.
Timing is the most important thing about utilizing this form. Utilize it when divers like Spider-Man or Iron Fist dash your supports. Not only can you weather their burst damage, but you can also reverse the situation by stunning or killing them in mid-air.
Interrupt Ultimates Like a Pro
Emma Frost's diamond shape isn't only for taking damage — it's also the ultimate anti-ultimate counter. With clever positioning, you can disrupt Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Peni Parker during their ultimates.
Magneto's ultimate is no match for Emma Frost since he cannot kill her while in diamond form. She can also suppress tanks like Groot or Doctor Strange before they can make a play.
The Balance Debate: Is Emma Too OP?
Emma Frost's strong kit is so full of versatility and fun for "Marvel Rivals," but at what cost? Her power could create balance issues. The developers have maintained that they will prioritize fun over strict balance, and they wish to keep gameplay exciting with over-the-top abilities.
Soon, we expect the devs to make some adjustments to Frost's skills. If they find it too overpowered, she could get a rework soon.
