Good news for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers: Microsoft will no longer remove one of the most iconic games in recent history from the platform to allow more users to enjoy it. It's none other than "Shadow of the Tomb Raider," which is best known for being part of the Lara Croft reboot.
Initially, Microsoft announced that "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is part of the games that are set to depart from the Xbox Game Pass this mid-April, but the company has ultimately decided to keep it.
Xbox Game Pass Decides to Keep 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider'
ComicBook Gaming has reported that "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" has now been removed from the list of titles that Microsoft is set to kick off the service this April 15.
The title was initially announced to be part of the list. According to ComicBook Gaming, this may be an accidental inclusion.
Moreover, it was reported that the reason this may be an error is that the team over at Xbox Game Pass is reportedly not yet considering the removal of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" from the service.
However, there is still no official word from Microsoft if this is indeed the case.
'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' May Still Be Removed
It should be noted that the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider's" removal does not mean that it will never be at risk of being removed from the Xbox Game Pass.
That being said, there are still no announcements regarding when Microsoft will remove the iconic game from Crystal Dynamics, particularly as it is already aging since it was first released.
Released in 2018, the game is optimized for past-gen consoles and is the 12th mainline release of the "Tomb Raider" franchise and the last title in the "Survivor" trilogy that began back in 2013.
Players who want to try out "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" may do so via their Xbox Game Pass subscription, among other means, and are guaranteed at least 12 hours of playing time. That being said, there are also side content to enjoy which doubles the time for players.
