In case you haven’t heard, Season 8 of Apex Legends is live. While it may be titled Mayhem, it’s actually bringing some interesting changes to the game. There’s also a new Legend and a new Weapon. Of course, the usual QoL updates are included.
The new season introduces exciting changes to Kings Canyon, and the highlight is a crashed ship that opened up a new region for players to explore and battle. Read about the map changes here.
Light Up the Fuse
A new season means a new Legend and Fuse can pretty much bring Mayhem. With his affinity for explosions, Fuse not only can carry additional grenades but can even throw them faster and further. His skills are:
- Passive - Grenadier
- Stack an extra grenade per inventory slot.
- Fire grenades farther, faster, and more accurately.
- Tactical - Knuckle Cluster
- Launch a cluster bomb that continuously expels airburst explosives on impact.
- Ultimate - The Motherlode
- Launch a bombardment that encircles a target area in a wall of flames.
Setting the Standard
The latest weapon for players to try out is the 30-30 Repeater. Considered as the standard when it comes to reliability, this latest addition to the game can withstand sandstorms and even some temporal instability.
The 30-30 Repeater needs the player to rechamber rounds between shots to bring that methodic rhythm. It also has a built-in charge to give the chance for increased damage per shot in exchange for a short buildup.
Since the weapon reloads one round at a time, it should test players of their resource management. Those who think this may be an issue don‘t need to worry that much considering its engagement range.
Players should also be happy to know that Season 8 brings in Gold-tier magazines. When attached to a weapon, it immediately reloads the stowed weapons but after a brief delay. These magazines have the same capacity as that of Purple mags. The Gold magazines are available for Energy, Snipers, Light, and Heavy Weapons.
QoL Updates
There’s some interesting quality of life updates. The HUD, for example, now has a Damage Counter. Many players have been requesting this, and it’s exciting to see how people can make the most of this. Players can now access Color Blind settings. When enabled, colorblind rules now apply when healing and reviving allies.
