Ubisoft has partnered with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to produce limited edition Assassin's Creed-themed merchandise marketed by professional wrestler Will Ospreay.
The deal follows the current International Champion's surprising Assassin's Creed-style ring entrance at AEW All In: 2024. The event was held inside the legendary Wembley Stadium in London, England, on Aug. 25, 2024, according to WrestlingHeadlines.
Assassin's Creed-Themed Merchandise
AEW posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday saying that they have agreed on a partnership to release limited edition, officially licensed Aerial Assassin - Assassin's Creed Shadows T-shirt & Poster.
Ospreay's Assassin's Creed entrance was made when he went up against Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF).
The former has been a long-time fan of the popular Ubisoft franchise. His entrance also included a promotional package for the latest game in the series, Assassin's Creed Shadows, said Sportskeeda.
Following the deal between Ubisoft and AEW, Ospreay also talked about the possibility of being included in the video game, AEW: Fight Forever. The professional wrestler mentioned that he has taken pictures for it. It was released last year and still gets regular DLC updates.
During an interview, Ospreay was also asked about his Assassin's Creed-themed ring entrance at AEW ALL In: 2024. He said that when they started getting everything together it had gotten crazy numbers on social media platforms.
Ubisoft reportedly expressed how satisfied it was with the popularity of the move and wanted to do it again at Wembley. The studio asked the professional wrestler how he saw it. Ospreay said that he wanted to see some parkour guys running around.
Ospreay said that if a new Assassin's Creed game was being made now, it would be more like a youth-style parkour freerunning era. Ubisoft noted that it wanted to induct the wrestler into the Brotherhood, according to EWrestlingNews.
Assassin's Creed Shadows
However, the Aerial Assassin said that there was only one man for the job, Ezio, one of the protagonists of the Assassin's Creed franchise. They then got all of the voice tracks for it and it was done as a collaborative effort.
The professional wrestler also talked about his excitement with the latest title in the Assassin's Creed franchise. He said that Assassin's Creed Shadow could not have come at a better time.
Ospreay spent eight years of his life in Japan and he said that the Assassin's Creed series is the reason behind his wrestling persona. He also talked about seeing the gameplay for the upcoming game and how stunning it was.
