All of the rumors were true, Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection for Xbox One and PS4. You can check out a trailer for the games above.
Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection will come packed with the three Ezio-based Assassin’s Creed games and their expansions, an animated short called Assassin’s Creed Embers and a three-part film, Assassin’s Creed Lineage, showing Ezio’s backstory and providing “an action-packed epilogue” to the trilogy.
Unfortunately, The Ezio Collection will not include the multiplayer found in Brotherhood and Revelations. Ubisoft was quick to point out that if you wanted to play multiplayer Assassin’s Creed, the mode is still running on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
Like with any re-releases as of late, The Ezio Collection will be getting minor graphical improvements. Don’t expect this to be a massive overhaul of the games, just basic prettying up.
This is a really smart move for Ubisoft, re-releasing a well-received Assassin’s Creed game right before the big Assassin’s Creed movie comes out. This allows positive press to swirl about the franchise as the movie hits theaters, as opposed to the most recent releases of Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, games plagued by bugs and other issues.
Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection will be available for Xbox One and PS4 on Nov. 15.
So what do you think? Are you excited to go back and play through the best games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise again? Have you not played the Ezio games yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
