One thing that most of us know by now is that Ubisoft is planning the next Assassin's Creed game this year, although nothing can be certain of this news until Ubisoft itself makes an official announcement regarding the next installment in the popular series. Meanwhile, you might be interested in knowing that Assassin's Creed Ragnarok has been allegedly leaked on the Italian GameSpot and German Amazon websites. However, the listing was immediately taken down from both.
It is important to note that these types of leaks are pretty easy to fake and, knowing Ubisoft, most of its game releases are predictable. According to the leaks, Assassin's Creed Ragnarok comes in two editions - Mjolnir Edition and Valhalla Edition. Both of these editions sound extremely convincing and some rumors also suggest that the game will be revealed in February. Rumors have been quite consistent about Assassin's Creed in the past and regarding Assassin's Creed Ragnarok, there have been few leaked screenshots and a teaser easter egg that players discovered in The Division 2.
Assassin's Creed Ragnarok is expected to release some time in autumn this year. The game is rumored to be set around 800 BC and the game's map allegedly includes parts of Scandinavia and the British Isles. There have also been some rumors suggesting that the game will feature more mythological characters than any previous Assassin's Creed titles. This includes Odin and Loki, with visits to the nine realms.
While these leaks sound pretty exciting, they don't have much weight behind them. Similarly, there have also been suggestions stating that the next Assassin's Creed game will be set in Ancient Rome, which would complete the trilogy that began with Egypt and Greece.
Nonetheless, if the next Assassin's Creed happens to release this year, we should hear news about it soon.
