At CES 2020, Asus revealed a ton of incredible tech, including desktop PCs, laptops, the Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Mini, and the world's fastest 14-inch gaming laptop. Known as the Asus Zephyrus G14, it is a small laptop packing some serious firepower while being only 17.9mm thick and weighing merely 1.6kg.
The Zephyrus G14 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS chip with eight cores and 16 threads. The processor is coupled with a powerful Nvidia GeForce GTX 2060 graphics card with 6GB VRAM. Talking about memory, the G14 supports up to 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM. On the storage front, you get up to a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD.
The Zephyrus G14 offers multiple options and the top-end variant is built for gamers, boasting a Full HD resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate with AMD's Adaptive-Sync technology for tear-free gaming. The display panel is also Pantone-validated with 100% sRGB coverage.
You also have a choice to go with the same display panel that is limited to 60Hz refresh rate and no Adaptive Sync, or a display with a 2560X1440 resolution, again with a 60Hz refresh rate, but with Adaptive-Sync. All these display panels are IPS-level panels and sport very thin bezels.
According to Asus, the Zephyrus G14 offers 10 hours of battery life and charges via a USB Type-C port.
The gaming notebook also comes with an LED-backlit keyboard and has an ErgoLift hinge that allows users to tilt the keyboard at more comfortable angles. The G14 also supports Wi-Fi 6.
Asus has also stated that the Zephyrus G14 has an innovative cooling system and a high-tech display on the laptop lid that Asus calls, 'AniMe Matrix' display. The AniMe Matrix is comprised of 1,215 mini LEDs, which can be used to display messages or animated GIFs. We can already imagine many creative ways of using this awesome tech.
Talking about the launch, the Asus Zephyrus G14 is expected to launch in late March. Unfortunately, no pricing has been revealed yet.
