Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have officially unveiled the first trailer for Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, the third and final entry to the Atelier Ryza series coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on February 24, 2023. Besides the first trailer, a seven-minute “First Look” video was also unveiled featuring commentary from Junzo Hosoi, head of Gust, and showing the first information surrounding the game. Check out both the first trailer and “First Look” video for Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key below.
According to the “First Look” video, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is set a year after the events of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy and four years following the events of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. From her home on Kurken Island, Ryza receives news of the sudden appearance of other mysterious islands in nearby waters. Ryza and her friends Tao, Lent, and Klaudia set out to investigate these new lands and embark on one last summer adventure surrounding mysterious keys and the roots of alchemy.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key will feature 11 playable characters, the most options out of all the games in the series. The cast features both familiar and new characters, each with their own stories and skills to compliment Ryza’s alchemical genius. The overworld and maps have also been significantly overhauled, now featuring a vast open field made up of multiple maps that are connected seamlessly, allowing for movement and traversal without loading times. The world features four distinct regions, each with its own flora and fauna for Ryza to discover and turn into powerful potions and other alchemical wonders.
With the upcoming release of Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, Gust closes the doors on what is possibly their most successful Atelier series of games to date. The Atelier Ryza games have been described as a revival for the larger Atelier franchise and a great entry point for new players to enjoy the long-running game series.
