It’s true, too, especially with so many moments of resounding crescendos set against sweeping, pastoral porn shots of Mother Nature, each one a great backdrop to roll credits against.

Arkansas Head Coach Bret Bielema and STRIVR Co-founder Derek Belch sat down with USA Today Sportswriter George Schroeder to discuss how virtual reality can help professional and collegiate athletes in the training room at a SXSW panel. STRIVR has come up with a VR-system that can analyze football footage in hours, and have it available for players to review the next morning.

Jeff Cuellar, the vice president of strategic partnerships at AC Entertainment, works for the organizer behind Bonnaroo. Cuellar spoke about how music festivals can use data at a SXSW panel alongside Drew Burchfield, the founder of Aloompa, a company that creates apps for festivals, and Creighton Burke, the vice president of insights and planning at AEG Live, the organizer for festivals such as Coachella and Panorama.

Representing the publishing industry at SXSW Friday, Forbes Chief Production Officer Lewis Dvorkin said the advertising industry needs to create better ads to stop the ad blocking user revolt. Forbes recently instituted a splash page on its website that stops users with ad blockers installed from accessing its content.

Nowhereelse.fr is reporting that they have obtained leaked photos of an iPhone 7 case design that lacks any cutout for a 3.5mm headphone jack. If these photos are accurate, it could possibly mean that Apple has decided to forgo the headphone port and is instead planning on funneling audio through the Lightning cable.

Apple has officially retired the mid-2010 17-inch MacBook Pro, the mid-2010 15-inch MacBook Pro and the Xserve to the vintage and obsolete pile. This means that Apple will no longer offer physical hardware service for this models, and support for future software will become increasingly dicey.

iPhone users are reporting that they are receiving ghost emails dated January 1, 1970 that can not be deleted from their mailboxes. The emails themselves are blank, with no content or subject, and are harmless despite being an irritant.

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided against hearing Apple’s appeal of a court case regarding ebook pricing that will see the tech giant forced to pay out a $450 million settlement. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in New York, decided against Apple in the Department of Justice’s favor June 2015.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey said that it “is up to Apple” to “release a good computer” if they ever hope to see support for the Oculus Rift on Mac OS X when he spoke to Shacknews recently.

Transmission, the quintessential BitTorrent client for Mac OS X, has been updated for the first time since 2014. Sony’s latest patent application seems to show the VR headset competitor chasing after Apple’s lead in figuring out how to eliminate the middleman between a user and a device. Filed cumulatively over three applications, Sony’s invention would remove the button-based input controller and instead use a glove to monitor specific finger movements to overall hand motion through space.

Apple will not be calling the rumored next generation of the 9.7-inch iPad the iPad Air 3, according to 9to5Mac . Instead, Apple will rope the new iPad Air into the iPad Pro family line, calling it the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Now that HTC has officially announced the price of the HTC Vive virtual reality headset and is accepting pre-orders, it’s time to compare the HTC Vive to the Oculus Rift VR headset. While the two are going head-to-head for the consumer’s pocketbook, the two differ vastly in terms of the minimum requirements they need to run on a computer, the price they’re being sold for, the features and specs they’re capable of and the games being released for them.

Apple has until Feb. 26 to comply with the Department of Justice order to assist the FBI in unlocking an iPhone connected to the December 2015 San Bernardino shooting, but judging from Apple’s recent update to the open letter they published Feb. 16, it seems like both sides are refusing to budge from their respective positions.
