Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will start their next season on June 17, though players can download the new content patch at least a day earlier.
Players are in for a treat as a lot is in store for them once the new season starts.
Ground Fall Event
To kick things off, the Ground Fall event will begin once the season starts. The premise is players will complete a series of objectives and in doing so, they will get Calling Cards, Emblems, XP, and a Satellite Weapon Charm. Doing all challenges will also award you with an Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint, and according to the developers, it is “truly out of this world.”
It is important to note that the objectives are different depending on the game. For Black Ops Cold War, the objectives pertain to the new maps, modes, and weaponry.
For Warzone, the challenges that you have to complete refer to new points of interest in Verdansk.
More information will be revealed in the games’ respective Season Event tabs, so you can peruse that section if you want to know more.
New Operators
Players can use three new operators, one of which is a familiar friend. At the launch of the new season, you can start using Jackal, a metal-masked South African native who was responsible for infiltrating the CIA Ground Station compound.
Jackal can be used in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War at Tier 0 in the battle pass. Reaching Tier 100 will unlock his Ultra-Rarity Jackal Operator Skin.
You can also unlock Salah who is a member of Egypt’s elite Unit 777. His skills and abilities can be a great asset to you during the season. Grigori Weaver, a CIA Clandestine Service Officer, is the last of the three new operators that you will get.
Both Salah and Weaver can be unlocked through the Season Four Store Bundle offerings, so keep a lookout for that.
Five Weapons of Destruction
A new season of Call of Duty will not be complete without new entries into the player’s arsenal. Five new weapons can be acquired in Season Four and they are:
- MG 82 (LMG): A full-auto light machine gun, it has moderate recoil and damage with increased ammo capacity. This can be obtained by getting to Tier 15 of the Battle Pass.
- C58 (Assault Rifle): A weapon with a slower fire rate, it is quite potent at close-range combat. The C58 can be yours upon reaching Tier 31 of the Battle Pass.
- Nail Gun Special/SMG (BOCW/WZ): Do you want to put a nail to your enemies’ heads? If so, this slow-firing nail gun is for you. This will be available to you at launch.
- OTs 9 (SMG): A rapid-firing, 20-round mag weapon, the OTs 9 sub-machine gun can be yours during the season.
- Mace: Of course, close-range combat is a staple of the game, and what better way to beat your enemies than a hard bludgeon capable of inflicting a critical blow on command.
Keep in mind that both the Mace and the OTs 9 machine gun can be only acquired in two ways: First, you can buy an item bundle with their respective blueprints in it (which randomly appears in the store). Second, you can complete in-game challenges that have the base weapons as the reward.
Apart from the things mentioned, you can also expect four new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer mode, and a new zombies experience. Black Ops Cold War players can start updating their clients on June 16 at 12 a.m. EST and Warzone players can download the update also at midnight on the 17th.
