Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has been updated across PS4, Xbox One and PC, and six new weapons have been added to the game. Three firearms, three melee weapons and even one new character skin have been attached to the online experience. Courtesy of CharlieINTEL, here are all the special perks and bonuses players can expect.
- PK-P5D9: Semi-automatic with three-round burst fire. Effective at close range.
- BR9: Semi-automatic with high power. Effective at close range.
- LYNX CQ300: Fully automatic with good power and quick fire rate
- Enforce
- Danger Close
- Barber
In addition to these new items, there are new weapon kits too. These allow players to build the Fire Drake and Urban Operator rifles by collecting the right parts.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also an extra goodie for those who performed notably during Operation Copperhead, which ended on Aug. 1 alongside the Call Of Duty Days Of Summer event. Those who managed to get all of the operation’s Supply Drop collections will get an exceptionally derpy skin of Captain Price to show for it. This was a surprise, as neither Raven Software nor Activision had discussed this perk before. Pictures of everything can be seen in the tweets embedded throughout this article.
Despite its status as a remastered game, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has been steadily augmented with extra weapons since its release in 2016. While these particular guns are essentially fictional, other free DLC drops have added guns from Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 to the standard experience. Character skins are also a traditional reward during the game’s small number of seasonal events as well.
This update is the first major patch to arrive since the standalone game released across all major platforms in June and July. Considering the player base has likely been more active in recent weeks, it’s especially important for Raven Software to show continued and free support over the next few months. None of the weapons on this list will drastically change the Modern Warfare experience, but that’s probably a good thing considering this expanded remaster has to strike a very delicate balance.
Aside from this recent update, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has been the subject of scrutiny in recent weeks. Not only has the standalone version been lambasted for its $40 price tag, but the $14.99 Variety Pack expansion hasn’t gained many fans by selling existing DLC maps for an additional fee. PC users have also complained that the game is horribly optimized and barely functional, even on high-end graphics cards.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game is also still included with premium editions of Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
