Capcom announced the upcoming release of two new titles for the Nintendo Switch. These are Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection and Capcom Arcade Stadium. Both games honor some of the revered arcade classics by Capcom.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, in particular, is set to roll out digitally on February 25, 2021, priced at $29.99. Capcom Arcade Stadium will release digitally sometime in February 2021.
Time to Fight Ghosts & Goblins
In Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, players are treated to a legendary platform series that debuted more than 35 years ago. It pays homage to both Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. It has the action-packed platform gameplay of the franchise combined with updated graphics and new obstacles.
Like in the previous games, players follow Arthur as he goes through the different stages of the Demon Realm. Arthur is doing this to rescue the princess from the hands of the Demon Lord. Players need to proceed with caution and watch out for enemies like Zombie, Skeleton Murderer, Pigman, and Red Arremer. To progress, players must make use of everything at their disposal.
Arthur must use everything as well to reach his goal. He can go from tried-and-true weapons like the Lance and Dagger to all-new additions like the Hammer and Spiked Ball.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a treat for everyone, whether new to the series or a longtime fan. The game offers three difficulties: Squire, Knight, and Legend. This version also features the Page mode. Untested apprentices get to respawn on the spot and with unlimited lives. For this version, Arthur can access an updated arsenal along with different types of skills and magic.
It’s Not Just One Game
In Capcom Arcade Stadium, players not only play one game but 32 action-packed classics. It includes games in the likes of 1943 – The Battle of Midway and even the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins.
Fans of retro gaming can buy up to three different packs that highlight a different period of Capcom arcade. There’s the 80’s classics for example like Strider and Bionic Commando. There's also the all-in-one pack, which has all three packs plus Ghosts ‘n Goblins.
If that’s not enough to entice you, how about the fact that it allows local multiplayer (up to four players) for supported games. Each game has adjustable options like Difficulty Level, Game Speed, and Display Settings. There’s even a Rewind feature where players can “jump back in time” and save themselves.
So, what do you think? Which game are you most excited about?
