In less than a week, the return of what is widely considered to be the most popular MMO in the world will be officially released. After months of endless hype, Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft Classic will finally be releasing this August 27, bringing with it some pretty powerful nostalgia, back when MMOs were less casualized and more about the social aspect that comes with it.
With server names already rolled out, and most of the playerbase’ names reserved, all that remains is to wait for Tuesday, when the game finally releases worldwide across all realms. However, there are still ways to get into the hype before World of Warcraft Classic’s release, and one of the best ways, of course, is to buy some merchandise for everything Warcraft-related, across all kinds of accessories and collectibles.

Funko POP Games World of Warcraft Illidan
The tale of Illidan Stormrage in his original outing in Warcraft III was that of tragedy, betrayal and, in the strangest way possible, redemption. His methods of trying to save the world from the wrath of the Burning Legion in his own way brought him at odds with a ton of the game’s other central characters, and yet nobody can deny that his transformation into a powerful demon through the Skull of Gul’dan worked, even if it cost him the respect and trust of his peers.
Every Warcraft fan worth his or her salt will do well to have the Funko Pop of this enigmatic and pragmatic anti-hero on their shelf. The figure features Illidan along with his legendary Twin Blades of Azzinoth, and depicted in that iconic Funko-style stance.
Funko Pop Games: WoW Oversized Deathwing Figure
One of the five Dragon Aspects and leader of the Black Dragonflight, Deathwing – also known as Neltharion – was a great and terrible being who once held dominion over the earth and the deep places of Azeroth. After his corruption through insanity at the hands of the Old Gods, he turned against the other Aspect. His first appearance in Warcraft II was that of a deceptive lord, destroying the human Alliance from within before his defeat at the hands of the other Aspects. After the fall of the Lich King, he returned to Azeroth once again to bring about an event called the Cataclysm, setting the events of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
This Funko Pop figure of Deathwing stands at six inches tall, which is taller than your regular Funko Pop figure. That’s to be expected, of course, since Deathwing itself is a gigantic and immensely powerful being that nearly brought the entire world to ruin.
Funko Pop Games: WoW Lady Sylvanas Figure
From her valorous beginnings as the ranger-general of Silvermoon, to her fall from grace as a Banshee in the servitude of Arthas Menethil, to her subsequent redemption as the Warchief of the Horde and supreme ruler of the Forsaken, the story of Sylvanas is synonymous with Warcraft itself. Over the years since her inception, she has become one of the most popular characters in the franchise thanks to her perseverance and determination, as well as the fact of her heroism despite the many troubles that befell her and her people.
It would be wrong to leave out this Funko Pop figure of Lady Sylvanas as she appears as an undead ranger. The iconic hood and armor are in full display here, taking on the Funko aesthetics, as well as the comically large red eyes and her light blue skin.
Funko POP Games World of Warcraft Arthas Vinyl Figure
Perhaps the most tragic of all of Warcraft’s characters is Arthas Menethil, a paladin who is also the Crown Prince of Lordaeron and a Knight of the Silver Hand. Recognized in the beginning of Warcraft III as one of its stalwart heroes, Arthas plunged into darkness after taking up the cursed runeblade Frostmourne, which in the process bound his soul to the Lich King, the leader of the undead Scourge. After leading a campaign that destroyed Lordaeron, Quel’Thalas and Dalaran, Arthas – as the Lich King – was finally defeated by champions of the Light in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
This rendition of Arthas features his appearance as the Lich King, complete with the menacing helmet that is beset by a jewel at the top and showing off blue, frozen eyes in that quirky Funko design.
Funko Pop Games: WoW Thrall Figure
Arguably the protagonist of Warcraft III, Thrall, son of Durotan, and founder of the nation of Durotar in Kalimdor, is an orc and former Warchief of the restored shamanistic Horde. Starting off his life as both a slave and a gladiator, he then formed an alliance with Orgrim Doomhammer to free themselves after the events of the Second War. Calling upon a union between the orcs, trolls, and tauren, Thrall led this new Horde against their demonic masters in a decisive battle, with its end subsequently beginning a time of peace between the former and what remains of the human Alliance.
This figure of Thrall depicts him in his appearance in Warcraft III, complete with his hammer and that iconic black armor. It’s a great piece to complete any budding Warcraft Funko collection, or maybe start one, if you’re only just beginning.
