By now, all Crysis fans should be aware of the remaster of the original Crysis game by Crytek. The remaster has yet to be released and fans already have pretty high expectations for the game.
Recently, a modding team going by the name of Remaster Studio has released a Crysis Enhanced Edition mod (which can be downloaded here) that significantly takes the visuals in the version of Crysis that is available today to a whole new level. The mod features HD grass, maximum texture quality, vanilla textures have been upscaled, and Rygel's textures have been modified.
The mod adds indirect sky lighting, fog effects, and improved lighting for several interior areas within the game. Crysis Enhanced Edition will also feature screen-space reflections for water, improved particle simulation, and ambient occlusion in the grass. There are also additional features like real-time ocean reflections, cloud shadows, and improved edge anti-aliasing.

This trailer shows how good Crysis can look when remastered properly on current-gen systems. Earlier this month, fans were displeased with the leaked visuals for the official Crysis Remaster. Following this, Crytek decided to delay the game to polish it properly.
"The features you're looking forward to are already set, but we want to take the time on polishing the game," Crytek said about the delay. "You might be aware of the leak yesterday, and want you to know; we've seen the reactions -- the good and the bad -- and we're listening! We're still working on a number of things in game, as well as the storefront. Please keep the love coming, and rest assure, you'll have the game you love shortly!"
Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year. The Switch version should drop on July 23.
