An action role-playing game from publisher 11 Bit Studios (FrostPunk, This War of Mine) and developer Dead Mage (Shadow Blade, Shadow Blade: Reload, The Monster Slayer) will be dropping soon on PC and consoles. Titled Children of Morta, the launch date has been confirmed to be on September 3 via Steam and the Windows Store, followed by an October 15 release date for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
Children of Morta’s story is set in a fantasy world with themes driven from real life inspiration such as love, hope, longing, uncertainty, loss, and sacrifice. The story-driven RPG follows the lives of the members of the Bergson family as they prepare themselves for the forthcoming battle against the Corruption spreading throughout the lands. Everything ultimately concludes in the mystical Mountain Morta.
Players assume control of the family and its members, with each their unique strengths and abilities. Some characters may prefer close quarters combat, while others are more comfortable inflicting damage from a distance or casting magical spells. These distinct strengths and play styles are yours to choose from. Ancestral wisdom is also a weapon in each player’s arsenal. Uncle Ben and Grandma Margaret will guide you throughout your battles against the Corruption and provide you with ancient knowledge about the way of Rea, the spirit of Morta land. Their skills can also be used to upgrade the family’s gear and boost main attributes.
Children of Morta is an action role-playing game with dungeon crawling elements such as combat against hordes of monsters in an ever-changing world. Every forest, dungeon, or temple is constantly evolving due to the Corruption’s influence. All this is beautifully put on the screen through a combination of hand-painted pixel art and frame by frame animations to create the both beautiful and treacherous world of Mount Morta.
The story-driven action RPG Children of Morta will soon launch for the PC via Steam on September 3. Pre-orders are currently available for 10% off and it is expected to launch for the price of $21.99. As for consoles, Children of Morta will come with both digital and physical versions by way of Merge Games for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The console releases are scheduled for October 15.
