Supercell has seemingly announced a new troop for Clash of Clans in the comments section of a Facebook post announcing the worldwide release of Clash Royale. There’s not very much detail to be gleaned from the comments left by the Clash of Clans Facebook page, but it looks like Supercell is planning on releasing the new troop in an update before April.
Supposedly, the new troop will be unlocked at Town Hall 10 and will not be the Musketeer troop from Clash Royale. Instead, the new troop will be a Dark Elixer based troop, similar to other Dark Elixer based troops such as Hog Riders, Witches, Lava Hounds and Minions. Also in the works are “cool plans for the next big feature.”
The new troop will supposedly be a “significant game changer” according to Christopher Groux at Design&Trend, who reports Clash of Clans YouTube insider TheAlvaro845, teased the information about the Clash of Clans March update in a video explaining the changes brought by the Clash of Clans Treasury update .
Supercell recently had major success with the Dr. T and Mega Crab event it hosted for its other multiplayer-based mobile game, Boom Beach. Supercell’s new mobile game, a collective card game hybrid slightly similar to Hearthstone , is called Clash Royale and will be available for Android & iOS globally in March.
In the last major update for Clash of Clans , the Town Hall 11 update, Supercell introduced a defensive structure called Eagle Artillery and a new hero called the Grand Warden. However, Clash of Clans players were overall not amused with the gameplay tweaks Supercell included in the update, although after two months, the dust has settled for the most part.
Supercell also recently released a developer API for Clash of Clans data that will certainly help out third-party community websites such as WarClans.
