Good news for horror fans! Halloween arrives early this year with Corpse Party (2021) coming to North America on October 20. This game is an updated, as well as expanded, version of the cult classic game Corpse Party. It’s going to be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
At launch, the game will be available digitally through all platforms for $19.99. PlayStation Plus members get an offer with the 10% launch week discount. The PC version, meanwhile, will be available and bundled with the original version, offered at a 25% discount. Those who already have the original OC game can get the new version at a 25% discount.
The game puts players in the haunted halls of Heavenly Host Elementary School. Everyone was first introduced to the horrors back in 1996. While the 2021 version has been updated for the new generation of horror fans, it continues to have the original 16-bit charm.
Players can enjoy the five main story chapters, where each one offers multiple gruesome endings. This new version comes with the 16 “Extra Chapters” which expands the lore of the series and even the characters and relationships. These “Extra Chapters” are also being released in fully voiced Japanese. There are also two new episodes, which introduce new characters.
