Fans of the alien sci-fi games will soon get their hands on two amazing games. Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which was announced back in June, finally has a release date. The entire campaign collection of all three games will be released on major platforms, including Nintendo Switch on October 15.
Epic Games Store Exclusivity
Just like Crysis Remastered, PC players can only play the remastered trilogy via Epic Games Store. Sorry Steam fanboys, either you bend and buy it on EGS or wait for an unspecified amount of time.
The remastered version of Crysis can already be bought on EGS. If you already own it, there is no point buying again. Crytek will just give you a choice to purchase C2 and C3 separately. So, you can complete your trilogy that way.
How Good was Crysis Remastered
The remaster of the original Crysis was very impressive. The visual fidelity was drastically improved, and the draw distance was insane. However, it is also true that the remaster had tons of issues at launch. Crytek has to release tons of updates to improve it. Heck, the remaster was missing an entire level which was later added via update.
There are still some aspects of the original game, like Facial Lighting, that are better compared to the remastered version.
How About Crysis 2 and 3 Remastered
For C2 and C3, it looks like the remasters are not very ambitious. The remastered footage on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S looks similar to the PC version of the original release. But we can’t say for sure though. We will have to wait for an actual comparison video to find out.
The Other Game Coming to Steam
In other news, Crysis Remastered (first game) will soon get a Steam release. It looks like the exclusivity deal with EGS is about to end. You can already wishlist the game on Steam. We are sure the same will happen to C2 and C3 remasters as well. The only point is how long we will have to wait.
So what do you think? Are you excited about the Crysis Remastered Trilogy? Are you planning to buy the game on EGS or will you wait for the Steam release instead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
