If you've been thinking that the trend of large game files will continue to go on, CD Projekt Red has something to tell you. It has been confirmed that while Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a vast open world, the game will not take up a massive chunk of your hard drive.
The information was revealed by Global Community Lead Marcin Momot, who also said that additional details on Cyberpunk 2077 will be revealed in the near future along with PC requirements.
When it comes to large game files, the two games that come to most people's minds are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, which takes over 200GB of disk space on numerous console and PC hard drives. Modern games are known to have large file sizes and therefore most gamers already assumed that Cyberpunk 2077 will also follow the same trend. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Final Fantasy VII each took over 100GB of hard disk space and, given the scope of these games, the big game size did not appear to be unreasonable.
In July, Cyberpunk 2077's official Twitter page held a poll asking fans which of the three announced Corporate, Street Kid, and Nomad lifepaths they would side with. Most fans sided with the Street Kid lifepath that focuses on street life and being deeply involved with the criminal underworld.
Even though fans are highly anticipating the Cyberpunk 2077 release, many have also expressed their concerns over how the Night City Wire events did not focus on RPG elements, and instead chose to show a lot of gunplay and chaos. However, Senior Quest Designer Miles Tost has comforted anxious fans by confirming that Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG game first and a shooter second, despite the game featuring plenty of gunplay.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on November 19 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The game will also launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X later.
