What happens when you have a cyberpunk futuristic world and put in the themes of H.P. Lovecraft? You get the latest offering from Stormling Studios, Transient. Aside from this announcement, Stormling Studios also released a reveal trailer.
So what is the game all about? It begins in a distant and post-apocalyptic future. Whatever remains of mankind are now living in the Domed City Providence, an enclosed citadel that was created in order for humans to survive the harsh environment. Amidst all of this, the story focuses on Randolph Carter, a member of ODIN, a hacker-for-hire group. Carter stumbles on a terrifying truth, a truth that may not only tear his own sanity apart, but lead him to questioning his very own existence.

Powered by the Unreal Engine 4, the game hopes to give players cutting-edge visuals in order to have a more immersive gaming and storytelling experience.
Transient is scheduled for release in 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game is developed by Stormling and published by Iceberg Interactive. Stormling is known for games like Conarium and Darkness Within.
Iceberg CEO Erik Schreuder revealed in a press statement that the company has “become the go-to publisher for those seeking their Lovecraftian fix – we will only enhance this reputation further with the addition of this grizzly creepfest.”
For Stormling’s Onur Samli, he revealed that they are excited to announce Transient. He added in the press statement that they “are moving to a new level of nightmarish surrealism by melding our love of all things cyberpunk with the historic and classic elements of H.P. Lovecraft.”
Howard Phillips Lovecraft, or H.P. Lovecraft, was an American writer who received posthumous fame through his horror fiction works, which have since influenced countless people. He is known to fans for his Cthulhu Mythos. This is a shared fictional universe and had its beginning with "The Call of Cthulhu" short story. The ongoing theme in the works of Lovecraft focus on how irrelevant mankind is in the presence of horrors that exist in the universe.
