French electronic duo Daft Punk may soon be on the road again for the first time in 10 years if rumors are to be believed. Several pieces of evidence have surfaced in recent days suggesting the artists, who perform as robot alter egos, may be headliners at Lollapalooza and Glastonbury festivals in 2017.
Reddit users discovered two tidbits connecting Daft Punk to Lollapalooza. First, a supposed festival line up flyer for Lollapalooza Chile, which includes Daft Punk among the performers. Second, a Daft Punk landing page (which has since been deleted) on the main Lollapalooza website.
The Lollapalooza leaks follow longstanding rumors Daft Punk may perform at the U.K’s Glastonbury festival. However, the duo’s spokesperson declined to comment about any upcoming performances.
Hopes to see Daft Punk live have heated up ever since reports indicated the two were in the studio with R&B artist The Weeknd. A preview of their collaboration , called ‘Starboy,’ surfaced last week and The Weeknd’s third studio album drops in November .
Many also note 2017 would be a prime time for Daft Punk to headline a tour or performance dates, considering the two seem to do live shows only every 10 years. Daft Punk’s last tours were in 1997 and 2007 respectively.
The duo’s last album was Random Access Memories , which released in 2013. Daft Punk’s members include Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.
