The next entry in the Dead Rising franchise is expected to be revealed at E3 2016, following a massive dump of information in a few different spots around the web, and early reports suggest Dead Rising 4 will expand upon the cooperative gameplay introduce in Dead Rising 3.

The first batch of information on Dead Rising 4 comes courtesy of several different sources, each of which broke the news in relatively quick succession on Monday morning. First up, a Redditor on a burner account uploaded what they believed to be the first public images of Dead Rising 4 to the popular image sharing site Imgur. A short time later, ThisGenGaming released its own collection of DR4 images, followed by another round of information from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier. Combined, the trio of disclosures leave relatively little doubt that Capcom is planning to announce the next entry in the Dead Rising franchise at (or soon after) this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

So what do we know about the unannounced project so far?

According to the early disclosures, Dead Rising 4 will actually be a remake of the first game in the series. Players will return to the fictional town of Willamette, CO and once again be forced to fight their way through a mall full of zombies as photographer Frank West. While DR4 will mostly look to recreate the story of the original, early leaks suggest Capcom will once again make cooperative gaming a focus in Dead Rising 4 . Those holding controllers two through four will get to control other protagonists from the series, including Annie, Chuck and Nick.

It’s believed Dead Rising 4 will launch on PC and Xbox One simultaneously; however, don’t be shocked if Microsoft has a change of heart and uses a staggered release schedule like they did with the game’s predecessor. There’s also a chance that DR4 could let players explore parts of Willamette that weren’t accessible in the original game. Examples weren’t provided by any of the sites but it’s not hard to imagine Frank ducking into a nearby camera shop for better gear or a gun store located relatively close to the mall.
