Developer Game Science announced that physical editions of Black Myth: Wukong for PlayStation 5 consoles will be available "very soon."

The studio revealed the news in a recent social media post while also expressing its gratitude to fans of the soulslike game as well as for their patience. Game Science said that the master disc for Black Myth: Wukong is "ready."

Black Myth: Wukong's Physical PS5 Version

Despite the announcement, fans will have to wait for a more specific release date for the physical editions of the game's PlayStation version. There is still no news about on when the title will be coming to Xbox consoles for now.

But last month, Microsoft also confirmed that the delay to the Xbox release of the soulslike game was not because of the platforms' limitations. This comes despite Black Myth: Wukong launched in August on PC and PlayStation 5, according to Eurogamer.

Fans speculated even more and rumors went around saying that Game Science was struggling to run the game on the Xbox Series S. Other claims suggest that Black Myth: Wukong was in fact planned to be an exclusive for the PlayStation on consoles.

While Game Science did not provide a specific release date for Black Myth: Wukong's physical PlayStation 5 discs, a prominent leaker shed more light on the news.

Billbil-kun said that it will be launching on Oct. 21, 2024, and will be priced at $64.99 in North America, Gematsu said.

Leaks of Price and Release Date

Previous talks said that the game's physical PlayStation 5 editions would be coming as a code in a box.

This was something that related to developer Game Science's "limitations in offline resources" that are needed for the import, export, transportation, distribution, and sales of physical discs.

Fortunately, it seems like these issues have already been resolved, allowing the development team to finally bring the highly popular soulslike to more people.

The price point of the upcoming physical copies based on the latest leak suggests that it costs $5 more than the digital versions.

Despite not having an official release date for the game's Xbox version, many believe that it will be coming soon. This is because the ESRB page for Black Myth: Wukong includes Microsoft's console alongside the PlayStation 5 and PC versions, according to The Gamer.

The game features a vast world that is filled with treasures and enemies that will challenge players and their skills. Black Myth: Wukong is based on ancient Chinese mythology and puts players in control of the Destined One.
