A new Destiny 2 bug is robbing some players of valuable Masterwork Cores. The worst part is that most of those impacted don’t notice until it’s too late.

Destiny 2 got another big update on Tuesday, four days after the first Leviathan raid lair opened its doors and a week after Curse of Osiris debuted. This week, Bungie introduced Masterwork gear, a new tier of firearms meant to bridge the gap between existing legendary weapons and exotic guns at the top of the loot pyramid. Masterwork weapons generate orbs, provide additional (and re-rollable) perks and track kill stats. But acquiring them isn’t easy. There’s only a small chance they’ll drop when you open a Legendary engram. You can also dismantle Masterwork weapons into Masterwork Cores, which can be used to re-roll a Masterwork weapon’s bonuses or change its activity affiliation (Vanguard or Crucible) and the associated kill tracking. You can also use 10 Masterwork Cores to transform a legendary gun into a Masterwork.

The problem? Masterwork Cores are the latest in a long list of consumables, including faction items and weapon parts, collected in Destiny 2. And a growing number of players are running low on inventory space. Normally, that isn’t an issue. Any items your Guardian can’t carry are collected by the Postmaster and need only be collected from your mailbox the next time you’re back at the Tower. But a bug is preventing the Postmaster from collecting excess Masterwork Cores, so (for now) it’s imperative to ensure you have extra space in your consumable inventory tab before dismantling Masterwork weapons. Bungie says it is aware of the issue and working on possible solutions, but the studio hasn’t offered a timeline for a permanent fix.

Overcrowded consumable inventories aren’t the only problem either. Bungie also confirmed another Masterworks bug related to orb production. According to the studio, multi-kills on floating enemies, like Harpies and Hydras, aren’t generating orbs as intended, which can be kind of a problem in any adventure, mission, raid or strike where the Vex are the primary antagonists. There’s no timeline for a fix but Bungie says it is investigating the problem.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
