Destiny 2
Destiny 2 Activision / Bungie

New information about Destiny 2’s upcoming jump to PC is out this week, courtesy of Bungie’s weekly community update, and some players may be disappointed to learn they’ll have to wait a few days to access the game’s toughest fights. We also learned Destiny 2’s Leviathan raid will continue to expand in the coming weeks, even if you’re uninterested in the recently added Prestige mode.

Preloading is already underway on Battle.net and fans are anxiously waiting for their PC copies of Destiny 2 to unlock. The PC port won’t be released for another four days. But Bungie decided now was the best time for PC gamers to find out what will/won’t be available when D2 hits their prefered platform next week. The good news is that Battle.net users will benefit from all the balance tweaks, bug fixes and other minor changes delivered in the first six weeks of Destiny 2’s life, including the hotfix that hit this week. Here are the patch notes, via Bungie:

General

  • To avoid erroneous removal of raid keys, they will no longer be removed upon hitting the weekly reset

  • Raid keys are also no longer removed upon creating a new character

  • Raid keys are also no longer removed upon logging into alts for the first time in a new week

  • Fixed an issue where a kinetic weapon would always be equipped after certain supers expired

  • Fixed an issue where Nessus scout reports would not add waypoints to certain chests

The bad news, particularly for those who’ve been playing a console version heavily since Sept. 7, is Leviathan won’t be accessible until Destiny 2’s second week on Battle.net. And the prestige version won’t drop until Week 3. It’s not ideal for fans who couldn’t wait until late October to start exploring the Destiny sequel. But it does give those new to the franchise a chance to get caught up before the next wave of Destiny 2 players start exploring Leviathan’s winding passageways.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One. The game hits PC on Oct. 24.
