Season 18 for Destiny 2, also known as Season of the Plunder, is now available on all platforms. As always with every new season, there’s a ton of new content that players can engage in.
Players have new things to do in Season 18. The first is the new seasonal activity called Ketchcrash where they will engage in ship-to-ship combat against Eramis and her crew, preventing them from wreaking havoc across the galaxy. The second is a three-man activity called Expedition where players will assemble maps and dig treasure, all while fending off enemy pirates. And to keep up with the pirate theme, the weekly mission will have players fight against pirate lords for some powerful relics.
Aside from that, fans of the original Destiny game will be happy to know that the King’s Fall raid is coming to Destiny 2 on August 26.
In addition, those who purchase the Season Pass will have instant access to the Delicate Tomb Exotic Fusion Rifle. Players who do not want to spend can still get the said weapon at Level 35.
Update 6.2.0 for Destiny 2 brought notable changes to the game, some of which can be found below:
- Loose skill-based matchmaking enabled on the Control playlist
- In 3v3 Crucible modes, special ammo will no longer refresh upon being resurrected, bringing them in line with Trials of Osiris.
- Self-reviving still restocks with special ammo
- Several weapon stats were previously hidden, which made fully evaluating weapons difficult.
- Airborne effectiveness, recoil direction, zoom, and aim assist are now visible on the weapon inspection screen.
- Dismantled weapons with Deepsight will provide pattern progress if a pattern is available.
- Dismantled weapons with Deepsight will provide 100 Neutral Element.
- If the objective is completed and the item is dismantled or the Deepsight mod extracted, 300 Neutral Element will be acquired.
- When a Deepsight weapon with a pattern is dismantled or extracted, players will be notified via loot stream that pattern progress has been made.
- Starting in Season 18, Deepsight weapons that are acquired prior to their pattern becoming available will no longer output pattern progress. The Deepsight weapon's tooltip will indicate whether a pattern is available or not.
- Increased damage of all Scout Rifles vs minor enemies (red bars) in PvE by 10%
- Increased base stability stat of all non-sunset High-Impact Auto Rifles by 6 to 12, depending on the weapon.
