In Bungie’s weekly blog post, the company has revealed some big changes coming to Destiny 2. These will be implemented once the Witch Queen expansion goes live on February 22. So, what can you expect? Read further to learn more.
Easier Rise to Power
Bungie will change some things regarding Power levels next month. First, the Power floor - the lowest Power possible for a piece of gear - will be set to 1,350. This allows you to start the new campaign at the appropriate Power level whether you’re a returning player.
Reaching the soft cap of 1,500 can easily be done just by playing the game. At Power cap 1,550, the only way for you to climb to 1,560 is by farming some Pinnacle rewards from places, such as the Trials of Osiris, various raids, Iron Banner, and other end-game PvE content.
This change gets you up to speed as soon as you start the game.
Gear Drop Changes
According to Joshua Kulinski, economy feature lead for Destiny 2, Rare or blue rewards will stop dropping from the Crucible, Gambit, Vanguard, and other playlist activities once you’ve reached the soft cap. Instead, you’ll have an increased chance of getting Legendary or Purple rewards, making your climb to 1,550 a lot easier.
Gunsmith Reputation
Banshee-44 is set to have a new reputation system similar to other vendors in the Tower, like the Drifter (Gambit) and Zavala (Vanguard). This also means that the items previously associated with Banshee-44, such as Weapon Telemetries and Gunsmith Materials, will be removed in the upcoming expansion. So, it is important that you spend the said items before February 22.
Mod Components Will Be Removed
Starting in the Witch Queen, all armor and weapon mods sold by Ada-1 and Banshee-44 will no longer require Mod Components. This means that you can purchase the mods they offer just by paying 10,000 Glimmer upfront. Additionally, Bungie is set to increase the number of mods available on each vendor to four instead of two.
It is worth noting that Ghost Mods, or those that generate Weapon Telemetries, will be removed since they no longer serve a purpose. These mods are:
- Arc Analyzer
- Solar Analyzer
- Void Analyzer
- Omni-Telemetry
- Banshee Special
Upgraded Master Rahool
In case you didn’t know, the Tangled Shore is going to be vaulted when the Witch Queen expansion goes live. The reason why this is important is that an NPC called Spider resides there, offering bounties and even some useful wares.
That said, even though Spider gets vaulted in the near future, you don’t have to worry because Master Rahool in the Tower will be offering the same services starting February 22.
Rahool will be selling Ascendant Shards and Enhancement Prisms as well. This is to make room for Ada-1 and Banshee-44 to sell you more mods for purchase in any given week.
So, what can you say about the changes coming to Destiny 2 next month?
