It looks like Capcom is starting this new generation of gaming in SSStyle with the plan to launch Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is going to be the publisher’s first title for the next-gen consoles, and it comes with a lot of new features and game modes. All of these were revealed during the PlayStation 5 Showcase yesterday.
Players and fans should be glad to know that the stylish action of the game has been enhanced even further with next-gen features like improved 3D audio and ray tracing technology. You want to know what makes the arrival of this game even more exciting? Vergil is going to be a playable character.
More Ways To Play
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is going to introduce two new gameplay modes that each offer a new and unique level of difficulty, especially for those who want to test their skills.
Legendary Dark Knight Mode is for those who want to test how they fare against an increased enemy count. Just how many enemies you ask? A crazy amount, that’s what. So be prepared as even the most seasoned of devil hunters may have problems with this one. Meanwhile, Turbo Mode, as the name implies, is all about increased speed. In this mode the gameplay speed has been increased by 20% which should allow for rapid fire and fluid combos.
New Playable Character
A lot of fans have long been asking for a chance to play as Vergil. Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is going to make that happen. Aside from the new Vergil mode, players also get the chance to take Vergil through the dangerous floors of the Bloody Palace challenge mode while wielding his iconic blade the Yamato.
By the way, those who already have Devil May Cry 5 can have the Vergil content for $4.99. This is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
New Generation RE Engine
A lot of Capcom’s games are powered with the RE Engine, like Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 3. While the RE Engine has already offered vivid gameplay experiences, it’s set to offer unmatched realism and visual spectacle on next-gen consoles.
For Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, the already cutting edge performance of the RE Engine is upped even further with the addition of visual and audio improvements. Players can experience increased frame rates up to 120fps. Then there is the 4K fidelity on supporting consoles. There’s also going to be an added sense of realism with the life-like reflections, shadows, and lighting thanks to ray tracing. The enhanced 3D audio means players can hear enemy movements from below, above, and even to any side of their character with pin-point precision.
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is going to be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for $39.99.
