Strategy RPG title Disgaea 4 Complete+ will get a western release and make its way to the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2019, publisher NIS America announced.
The game is a re-release of the critically and commercially successful Disgaea 4, which was launched in 2011. So what makes Disgaea 4 Complete+ better and different from its predecessor? Well, NIS America listed the reasons for fans in a blog post on their official site.
First off, it contains all additional characters and scenarios from the previous versions of Disgaea 4. Also included is a number of Peta-level spells and Job-specific skills from Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited. If you’ve already played Disgaea 5, a few features may seem familiar to you such as the Cheat Shop, Event Viewer, Weapon Appearance, innocent Warehouse, and the Pay Up System to bribe Senators to change their votes in the assembly. These were implemented as quality-of life improvements. A number of network features are also slated to be added once the game releases, such as the Map Edit and Upload, Pirate Edit and Upload, Pirate Duels, and Foreign Ministers.
The publisher also elaborated on what makes Disgaea 4 Complete+ an upgrade from its older version. It boasts an updated 1920 x 1080p resolution. The option to reposition characters while viewing the target areas of their skills has also been made available for players. This option is also available even for specials that have non-fixed targeted zones. Skill speeds can also be adjusted now and players get a graphic preview of the Magichange weapon that their monster class becomes through the Status Screen. An autosave feature has also been added after winning battles.
In addition to the release date, NIS America also announced a Reverse Cover Sheet Contest. Until July 11, people can vote for the alternative cover design they would like to see on the game’s final release. Random voters have a chance to win prizes. The process for entry and prizes up for grabs can be seen at this link.
Disgaea 4 Complete+ will launch on October 29 for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders for the game’s HL-Raising edition are available on the NIS America site for $64.99.
