In a new content update for their Steam Early Access version of Divinity: Original Sin 2, developer Larian Studios has added two new schools of magic: Polymorph magic and the Metamorph class, as well as Summoning magic and the Conjurer class.
A new gameplay trailer for Divinity: Original Sin 2 showcases the new classes. Check it out below:
Creative director Swen Vicke explained more about the new content update in a Kickstarter update video you can also view below:
According to a press release:
“Polymorphers can sprout bulls horns to deliver devastating charges, wings to glide over the battlefield, steel skin for extra physical armor, and much more.” Players can use Polymorph skills both in and out of combat to maneuver new paths over, around and through obstacles. Most importantly, players can use Polymorph to turn their enemies into chickens. Bawk-bawk!
Additionally, “Summoners can bring their Incarnate to battle, a magical partner with elemental properties that depend on the surface it was summoned on. Summoners can also spawn elemental totems to perform different attacks, buffs, and debuffs.”
Incarnates may be upgraded to increase their power and gain new abilities, while the elemental totems serve as automatic weapons that may be placed anywhere on the battlefield. Both Incarnates and totems manifest elemental powers of the surface they were summoned in, including blood and poison.
