Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 may just be getting ready to start its open beta, but its developers are ready to share plans and projects going for all of Year One.
Apart from the full base game that players receive when they buy any of the editions, developers also have a lot of free content in store for The Division 2’s first year of launch. New content will come in the form of new areas, activities, and narratives. This includes Tidal Basin, a new faction stronghold, Operation Dark Hours, the game’s first eight-player raid, and three episodes of narrative content and new specializations to be released in the Summer, Autumn, and Winter of 2019.
Year One Pass holders - those that either purchase the game’s Ultimate Edition, Gold Edition, or a separate Year One pass when it comes out - get bonus perks such as instant access to new specializations, exclusive missions, unique cosmetics and customization options. Year One Pass holders also recieve seven-day early access to DLC content.
Developers at Ubisoft are looking to implement a loot-box system to fuel gameplay with a year’s worth of free content. The team will also be following up on player suggestions, feedback, and reviews over time to add new features and content according to what players want to see and experience.
