The current health crisis has taken its toll on a number of esports tournaments. However, the Dota 2 community is not taking it lying down and a global online charity tournament has been organized in order to help in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus. Presenting the WeSave! Charity Play, which is scheduled to start on March 20 and run until March 26.
The tournament features 24 of the world's top Dota 2 teams and offers a prize pool of $120,000. However, the prize is going to be distributed differently. Specifically it's going to be spread evenly across the six regions of Europe, CIS, North America, South America, China, and SEA. That means it's going to be $20,000 per region. That said, no team is going to technically get the prize as it's going to be donated to fight the Coronavirus. This is not limited to the prize, as it also includes donations from sponsors and viewers.
