The sequel to the PlayStation exclusive Dragon Quest Builders arrives in a little over a month, and now you can finally preload it. Dragon Quest Builders 2 was already released in Japan last year, but now players from around the world will be able to enjoy the Dragon Quest spinoff title when it finally releases on July 12.
Pre-orders for Dragon Quest Builders 2 are now live on the European Nintendo Switch eShop, and of course Nintendo has released more details regarding its impending release. Dragon Quest Builders 2 has four planned DLCs in the form of item packs, which are the collective life blood of the title. Buying or pre-purchasing Dragon Quest Builders 2 will net you one free DLC pack, and the three others can be purchased either separately, or through a season pass. The first two of these DLC packs will be released on July 26, a few weeks after Dragon Quest Builders 2’s release. Check out the details below.
- Knickknack Pack (Release date: July 26/ Price: Free) – the first of the DLC packs is available for free with any purchase of Dragon Quest Builders 2. This pack includes three recipes to create three items: Pretty Paddle, Celebratory Soup and Ornate Adornment. These are celebratory items meant to commemorate the New Year with some much-needed Hotto flair.
- Hotto Stuff Pack (Release date: July 26/ Price: $5.99) – the first of the paid DLC packs includes more than 40 recipes, all to imitate the design and decorations of structures in the Hotto Steppe – a location in the Dragon Quest universe where weary visitors can take a break from their travels. An additional island will also be made available, wherein players can gather the materials needed to build these recipes.
- Aquarium Pack (Release date: August 2/ Price: $9.99) – by purchasing this DLC, you will be able to check the mailbox on the Isle of Awakening in order to discover a fishing island teeming with quests and new characters to meet. There are over 40 different fishes to catch, which can then be added to your very own DIY aquarium. The fishing rod will also be unlocked, as well as various customization options such as swimwear, straw hats and a ponytail hairstyle.
- Modernist Pack (Release date: August 9/ Price: $9.99) – the last of the planned DLC packs includes more than 70 different types of recipes that will allow you to construct modern-looking structures and change hairstyles and clothing. You can also construct your very own fashionable luxury hotel using the various recipes in the pack.
Alternatively, you can purchase a season pass for $20.99, which will include all the packs together to be downloaded once available. Nintendo has also announced that the base game of Dragon Quest Builders 2, which costs $59.99, will be available to purchase using the Nintendo Switch Game Voucher.
