Xbox Game Pass users rejoice! Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be available in the Xbox library on June 22. This has been announced by game developer Tuque Games in a tweet.
The great thing about the upcoming release is that it will also be available on Windows 10 PCs via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The Dark Alliance
For those of you who are wondering, this game is a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and Dark Alliance II.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is set in the frigid world of Icewind Dale. You will battle hordes of monsters, such as the Beholder, the abominable Frost Giants, and powerful White dragons. Your mission is to gather troops and muster enough strength to defeat these overwhelming odds.
The game is a third-person action RPG that lets you control one of the four main heroes in the story. You will have the option to choose either Catti-brie, Wulfgar, Drizzt Do’Urden, and Bruenor Battlehammer as the main champion. Each of these characters has its own unique abilities, so pick one that fits your ideal play style.
Instead of using a top-down approach like the old games, you will be presented with an over-the-shoulder UI that is similar to Gears of War.
New skills can be unlocked as you complete missions and defeat bosses. The longer you play, the harder the adventure gets. Do not worry as you will be rewarded with more powerful gear as the game progresses.
While you can enjoy everything on your own, the full Dungeons & Dragons experience will not be complete without your buddies. You have the option to play with your friends in a dynamic co-op experience. The more players are in a session, the more challenging the enemies will be!
Aside from all of the aforementioned platforms, the game will be available on the PS4 and PS5 consoles as well.
You can preorder the game now and have the option to choose between Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Steelbook editions.
