The new action RPG game Elden Ring has sold 12 million units worldwide. Just released last February 25, this makes it a good start for a game that is sure to become a franchise.
Elden Ring was developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the Dark Souls franchise. The game was made in collaboration with George R. R. Martin, the one responsible for the materials for the setting of the game.
In a statement, Director Hidetaka Miyazaki shared that it was surprising to see how many people have been playing the game and he extends his heartfelt thanks. He added that he hopes everyone enjoys a high level of freedom as they go on an adventure in the game’s vast world.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco President and CEO Yasuo Miyakawa said that he thanks all the fans who brought Elden Ring into their lives. He shared that he is proud to have been part of introducing a wonderful and fantastic game to life. Miyakawa went on to say that the effort put into creating the game was to ensure that it exceeded the expectations of fans. He added that they’re going to continue their efforts in expanding the brand beyond the game itself.
