Elder Scrolls fans have been waiting on Elsweyr for years, but it looks like the wait is over. For the first time ever in the official history of the Elder Scrolls franchise, the land of Elsweyr will be available and explorable in the Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, which is now in Early Access.
The latest installment/expansion to Elder Scrolls Online is Elsweyr, a brand new adventure that takes players to the distant, southern savannahs of Elsweyr, a place that has never been accessible in any of the Elder Scrolls games until now. While the Elsweyr expansion must be purchased individually to unlock its content, the new chapter will be rolling out alongside Update 22, which is a free major update to the base game.
Elsweyr is the homeland of the cat-like Khajiit, and is described a sun-blessed land covered in rich savannahs and canyons. According to the official Elder Scrolls Online website, the Elsweyr chapter is described as:
Dragons stalk the skies over Elsweyr, and the Khajiit struggle to defend their homeland from both invading Imperials and the monstrous beasts. While featuring a strong stand-alone story in its own right, ESO: Elsweyr continues the Season of the Dragon adventure that started with the Wrathstone DLC and continues throughout the rest of the year’s updates.

The Elsweyr Update includes a host of new content for players to experience and enjoy. First and foremost, the nation of Elsweyr will be unlocked as a new zone for players to explore and immerse themselves in. The story behind the Elsweyr chapter revolves around a series of dragon attacks threatening the peace in the Khajiit homeland. It includes a new class for players to master: the Necromancer, and a new 12-player Trial called Sunspire. As always, the upcoming update includes all new items, locations, and sidequests to enrich the player experience throughout Elsweyr.
Now that Elder Scrolls Online: Elsewyr is in Early Access, players are rushing back to the fold to see with their own eyes the mysterious Khajiit nation of Elsweyr. While there's been speculation that the upcoming Elder Scrolls title would take players to Elsweyr, it seems unlikely now that the Elder Scrolls Online has claimed that right.
