The new Waking Flame DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online is now live. It offers players two new dungeons, with each one having its own Gates of Oblivion stories. This game pack, however, is initially made available on PC and Google Stadia.
Players can buy Waking Flame from the in-game Crown Store for 1,500 crowns. It’s immediately accessible by those who have the ESO Plus membership. Players whose ESO Plus membership lapses will lose access to the DLC. However, they won’t lose any of the items already obtained or even achievements and rewards. Access can be restored by renewing the membership or just buying the DLC.
What about console players? PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S players need to wait until September 8 to try it out.
The two dungeons offer players challenging boss battles to overcome as well as mysteries to uncover. These dungeons can be accessed in Normal, Veteran, and Hard Mode difficulties. In addition, each dungeon offers a series of unique items and achievements.
The Once Noble Order
One of the two new dungeons is the Red Petal Bastion. This is the fortress of the Knights of the Silver Rose. These knights originally protected the people of Tamriel from the forces of Oblivion but have since been looting nearby shrines indiscriminately to collect holy relics.
Players are tasked by a devotee of Azura to go against these once-noble knights and reclaim the stolen artifacts. Along the way, players discover the result of the sudden about-face of the order.
Beware the Cult
The Dread Cellar has long been rumored to be one of the most feared prisons in the Empire. While many have been saying that it’s abandoned, it seems mysterious magical energies are coming out from it. It turns out that this has become the base of cultists of the Waking Flame.
For this dungeon, players are asked by two Imperial Battlemages to help in their investigation. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered and one of these is what part does the Dread Cellar play in the plans of the cultists?
The Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG released in 2014 and is originally made available on PC. It was later launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
