Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson keeps posting photos of his Fast 8 character Hobbs to his Instagram account, but the latest post from the set may have some serious plot repercussions for the upcoming Fast and Furious sequel.
The Rock’s Fast 8 set photos are mostly about cars, muscles and guns:
But this latest photo puts Hobbs in a prison jumpsuit:
The caption reads “The Iceman cometh. And don’t fucketh around. #OnSet #FastAndFurious8, #HobbsTheIceman #OrangeAintTheNewBlack APRIL 2017.” It’s not a caption loaded with plot spoilers, but The Rock’s costume hints at what’s likely to be a major component of the Fast 8 plot.
Does it remind anyone else of the end of Furious 7, which found Jason Statham’s supervillain Deckard Shaw in a maximum security detainment facility?
From this Fast 8 cast photo Vin Diesel posted, we know Jason Statham is back. Unless he has very good lawyers, someone is going to have to bust him out of prison. It looks like Hobbs “The Iceman” cometh to set him free.
So why the hell would Hobbs and the Fast and Furious crew bust their deadliest enemy out of prison? They’ll probably need his help to defeat Cipher (Charlize Theron), described as their “greatest adversary ever.”
