The first Iron Fist footage was surprisingly shown during the Luke Cage panel at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans a first look at Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist .

There’s a lot to dissect from the first Iron Fist footage but before we do, watch the teaser from San Diego below.

In the Iron Fist teaser, we see a young Danny within the rubble of a crashed airplane. The young man is found in a snowy region by some monks. Those who are familiar with the Iron Fist character know that these monks are the ones who take Danny to the mystical city of K’un L’un where he learns martial arts and the ways of K’un L’un.

We then see Danny return to New York and he’s locked up in a psychiatric hospital before he escapes by punching a hospital wall down.

A lot about the Iron Fist series is not yet known but casting rumors and confirmations are rampant before the official release in 2017. Colleen Wing, another prominent street-level Marvel Comics character has been confirmed for the series. She will be played by Game of Thrones actress Jessica Henwick .

There is no hard premiere date for the Iron Fist series, but considering it will join Daredevil Season 3 and the Defenders , we should expect it in the first quarter of the new year.

So what do you think of the first footage from Iron Fist ? When do you think it will premiere on Netflix? Sound off with your thoughts and theories in the comments section below.

The Struggle Is Not Real
If you’re looking for shock value, Iron Fist does not have it. Netflix and Marvel have turned an interesting superhero into a basic bro.
  • Colleen Wing is a delight
  • The last four episodes are significantly more entertaining
  • Problematic character development
  • Lackadaisical fight scenes
