Sansa might be a Stark, but that doesn’t mean she’ll play by the rules. She saw how a few power plays can change the outcome of events in the Battle of the Bastards, and she’s not finished playing the Game of Thrones.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa in the HBO series, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what’s to come for her character in Game of Thrones Season 7. There is still a lot of tension between Sansa and Jon Snow, especially since she doesn’t want to stay on the sidelines any longer.
“She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her,” Turner told EW . “She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds.”
Sansa deserves to be at the war table, like her mother Catelyn before her. Don’t forget, Catelyn helped Robb Stark gain allies, much like Sansa did with Jon by getting Littlefinger for fight for them against Ramsay Bolton. Jon would be a fool to ignore Sansa, especially after she proved how valuable she can be.
But will Sansa betray Jon to get the power she now craves? It’s possible. Sansa went against Jon by getting Littlefinger’s help. Sansa didn’t want her to get involved in the fight, but she did it anyway. Sansa is looking out for her own interests. She trusts no one to keep her safe, not even Jon.
However, the game would definitely change if Arya makes her way back to Winterfell. Sansa was always close to Jon and she wouldn’t let Sansa do anything to go against her family. Arya might be the missing link to hold the Stark children together.
