More than 20 minutes of new Ghost Recon Wildlands gameplay footage has been released by Ubisoft, courtesy of the PlayStation EU channel on YouTube, featuring narration from Ghost Recon Wildlands Lead Designer Dominic Butler. But this time we get a look at what the game might be like for those of us who prefer to play games -- even multiplayer titles -- by ourselves.
Previous Ghost Recon Wildlands have all, understandably, focused on the multiplayer elements of the upcoming shooter. While it’s possible to complete GRW by yourself, as Ubisoft’s latest demonstration looks to prove, the publisher has always been upfront about its belief that the best way to play Ghost Recon Wildlands is with friends (or even strangers). But there are a number of features built into the game that will make it easier for lone wolves in the Ghost Recon community to complete the GRW campaign without help from fellow players.
Like many single-player tactical shooters, Ghost Recon Wildlands will give players limited control over their squadmates, including the ability to order them into specific positions and coordinate simultaneous trigger pulls. It’s probably fair to assume your AI companions won’t be as proficient on the battlefield as real players. But it’s always nice to see stuff like this included for those who aren’t interested in, or can’t use, a game’s multiplayer features.
For a closer look at Ghost Recon Wildlands , take some time to review this week’s single-player walkthrough from the GRW dev team. Then head down to the comments section and let us know how you’re planning to explore Ghost Recon Wildlands (solo or with friends) when the game heads to PC and consoles in a few months.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts March 7.
