It looks like the wait is almost over as Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is arriving on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on June 1. The game was previously released for Nintendo Switch. Once available, players can get it for $29.99.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a modern reboot of the iconic Ghosts ‘n Goblins series. Like the original games, this one also features the knight Arthur who travels across the Demon Realm and battles against zombies, skeletons, and Pigmen. Every time a player finishes a game, they get the chance to take on a shadow version of each stage. This version rearranges the placement of enemies and their spawn points. That’s not all as there are also changes to the environment that increases the difficulty of each stage.
The game offers players the chance to use eight different kinds of weapons. There’s the hammer, for example, which creates a shockwave when it strikes the ground. The lance, meanwhile, is a weapon that can be thrown.
For each stage, special black treasure chests that differ from usual chests are available but are more difficult to find. Once players find such a test, they need to destroy it and after which an Alabaster appears. After defeating it, a change happens somewhere in the stage which gives players access to a Hell Hole. To escape this special room, players must meet the conditions, and once they do, they'll get interesting rewards.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection includes four difficulty levels: Page, Squire, Knight, and Legends. While the difficulty can’t be changed, the game does give players the chance to go for a lower difficulty in a particular level, especially after consecutive deaths.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection also features a two-player local cooperative mode. The second player can take on the role of secondary characters that have their own abilities to help Arthur. These characters are:
- Barry
- Can create barriers for protection.
- Kerry
- Can carry Arthur through dangers.
- Archie
- Can create bridges to cross obstacles.
