The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers (NAVGTR) has released a statement correcting the number of video game nominations received by God of War Ragnarök. It was previously reported that the game received 23 but the corrected tally turned out to be 24.
That means it now ties with The Last of Us Part II, which had the same number of nominations in 2023. What’s amusing is that the record set by The Last of Us Part II beat the record set by another God of War game, which obtained 22 nominations in 2018.
God of War Ragnarök was released worldwide in November 2022 PlayStation 4 and 5. Since its release, it has received various accolades like Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards 2020 and Game of the Year at the Titanium Awards 2022.
The NAVGTR Awards honor 57 competitive categories that recognize achievement in animation, art direction, character design, controls, game design, game engineering, musical score, sound effects, writing, and more. Since its inception, it has recognized more than 6,816 talented individuals.
