Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will be announced Oct. 4, the tech giant confirmed Monday in several teasers on various social media platforms. Those interested can sign up for more information at Made By Google , a new teaser page, which also surfaced Monday.

Longstanding rumors have indicated Google will shift from its Nexus line to a new smartphone line, expected to feature a custom Android interface instead of the pure Android software. Google is expected to announce two devices, both supposedly made by HTC, called the Pixel and Pixel XL. Codenamed Sailfish and Marlin respectively, the Pixel is expected to be a 5-inch slate device with high-end specs, while the Pixel XL is expected to be a 5.5-inch phablet with super-premium hardware.

Amid the announcement, additional details about the Pixel phones have surfaced, including wallpapers , handset leaks and pricing information.

Android Police claims the smaller Google Pixel smartphone will sell for $649 at launch, with the Pixel XL possibly being even more expensive. Prior rumors matched the XL with that price and the Pixel in the $400 range. At this time, the tech blog has medium confidence in this rumor, but did also note Google may offer a financing option for the devices, as well as an extended warranty. The accidental damage coverage may cost $99 for the Pixel and $119 for the Pixel XL.

Recent leaks of the Pixel and Pixel XL show clear shots of the front and back of the devices; showcasing a design similar to the HTC 10 coupled with a rear fingerprint scanner and several sensors on the back panel. While the devices shown in the leaks are white, Android Police claims the Pixel phones will be available in aluminum, black and blue color options.

The Pixel and Pixel XL will likely be available at the Google online store with additional carrier availability, including Verizon.

There is no word on when the devices will go on sale.
