Rumors regarding the next GTA 5 update in August have surfaced since the last week of July and as far as we can tell, all signs are pointing towards a new GTA Online "Biker" DLC. Speculation on the upcoming GTA 5 August update began with a telling source code leak that revealed six interesting lines of script.
First, the following new game modes are expected in the next DLC – gb_biker_bad_deal, gb_biker_initiation, gb_biker_joust, gb_biker_rescue_contact and gb_vehicle_export. GB, an abbreviation for "Goon Boss," suggests the events are most likely VIP or Boss missions. Next, a new location will be added in the next update as well. The "am_mp_personal_mod_garage" source code is most likely a new garage, a sixth property, that players may own.
Now that we have somewhat of an idea regarding what to expect, the next question is when should we expect it? Via MrBossFTW, the answer to when the GTA 5 August DLC will be announced lies in the CEO Rockstar Editor Contest that Rockstar announced back in June. The contest asked fans to create a cool short film using Grand Theft Auto in-game footage. The contest isn't all that important – what's important is when Rockstar will announce the winners list, which the Rockstar Social Club stated will take place "no later than August 18th, 2016."
Furthermore, the Rockstar is also currently holidng a Double GTA$ & RP week for Entourage, Extraction and Hunting Pack Adversary Modes, which will take place from Aug. 12 through Aug. 18. With an event week that is also ending on the 18, it's difficult not to expect some sort of announcement on the day.
So there you have it. While nothing is confirmed, we're expecting to hear new regarding the GTA 5 Biker DLC sometime next week. And when could Rockstar official release the August DLC? Well, there's only two Tuesdays left in August following the probably announcement next Thursday, which are Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. Coincidentally, Aug. 23 also happens to be national "Ride Like The Wind" Day. And on that note, stay tuned as we learn more about the anticipated GTA 5 August DLC in the days ahead.
