Shortly after unveiling the first teaser poster for his sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, director James Gunn posted the first teaser trailer, which he’s calling a “special sneak peek.” The short video mainly serves to reintroduce us to the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, providing quick moments of Drax, Star-Lord, Gamorra, Rocket, Nebula, Yondu and Baby Groot, dressed adorably in a little, red jacket. It gets cold in space!
While it’s good to see the Guardians of the Galaxy gang back in action, let’s also hope that the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser trailer marks the last time we’re subjected to “Hooked on a Feeling.”
Not that any part of this looks bad, but this first teaser trailer is a little dull. I feel particularly bad for people who were alive in 1974, who have now had to live through “Hooked on a Feeling” getting played into the ground twice in one lifetime.
So when can we expect the full trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2? Since it’s due out in theaters on May 5, 2017, in front of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December seems a tad late. Best guess? The full trailer will appear in front of Doctor Strange on Nov. 4 (and possibly see an earlier release on an international Strange release date).
