Hearthstone revealed that with the arrival of Saviors of Uldum, new cards have been introduced and new deck builds have entered the play. However, there are a few deck builds that have resulted in Blizzard making the necessary changes in order to have a better ladder experience for Hearthstone players. In particular, the changes target the Mage, Warrior, and Priest decks.

MAGE

Conjurer’s Calling

A number of Mage decks use Conjurer's Calling, particularly those that focus on cards like Mountain Giant and Sea Giant. This has resulted in powerful board states where opponents were unable to find effective answers. By increasing the mana cost, it ensures that using both copies of the Twinspell card in a single turn is made significantly more difficult.

Luna’s Pocket Galaxy

Buffing cards through Rise of the Mech was a big change. This card, however, was an exception. Putting Luna's Pocket Galaxy early in the game leave opponents feeling rather helpless, especially if late-game minions are drawn in subsequent turns.

WARRIOR

Dr. Boom, Mad Genius

The goal for this card was for control Warrior decks to be able to close out games. However, recent games have shown that it had a tendency to be played a bit too early. By increasing the mana cost, it should make it more difficult to find a good turn to play the card. Hopefully this allows opponents to also make powerful plays themselves.

PRIEST

Extra Arms

Before the release of the Rise of the Mech event, the Priest was considered as one of the game's weaker classes. Extra Arms was therefore buffed in order to allow Priest a powerful early game spell. However, with Saviors of Uldum, the Priest deck had access to more powerful early game minions. This has resulted in an increase not only in popularity, but even winrate. With everything that Priest decks have to offer, it became difficult to fight against this deck especially early in the game. Increasing the mana cost should hopefully allow other decks to provide a challenge in the early game.

NEUTRAL

Barnes

A lot of discussions have revealed how this card works well against Priest decks. Barnes has been found to be to consistently powerful early in the game. Increasing the mana cost by one lets opponents have time to react while making sure that the card retains its identity to summon specific minions.
