Yesterday the Path of Redemption update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide went live. There were a lot of exciting new content along with some cool improvements. Today we're going to look at some of what's new to the game.
Let's start with the new feature introduced to the Barber-Chirurgeon which is the Personality Scourge. This procedure gives players the chance to change all aspects of their operative from the character creator, with the exception of the class. This rather novel service for the rejects is a result of a partnership by Krall and Sefoni. As a way to fund the venture, Krall has imposed a Docket fee of 50,000 Ordo.
Now given that the operation requires valuable Prismata Crystals, players occasionally have Krall and Sefoni join them through Comm-Link during the Ascension Riser mission.
Player Titles
New as well is the reward type which are Player Titles. These are going to be displayed as extra text that's under character names in nameplates. This is for both the world and HUD. To get titles, you'll need to complete penances and advance the penance track. By default, Titles are going to be visible in missions and have colors which match their Rarity. The colors and visibility of Titles in missions can be changed through the Option Menu that's under the Interface section.
New Special Condition
You can also check out the new Special Condition which is Pox Gas. This is available on the Mission Terminal. This Special Condition results in the mission having more of a green/Nurgle/gas look. It also Pox Gas clouds in the missions The Pox Gas clouds have a similar effect on both players and enemies as the Dreg Tox Bomber gas. That means the clouds buff enemies and apply corruption to players.
As a way to counter the effect of the Pax Gas, Med Stimms is going to appear across the mission. Both Low-Intensity and High-Intensity versions have been added.
New Enemy
Then there's the Dreg Tox Bomber enemy added to the Dreg faction. The Drex Tox Bomber throws Blight Grenades which explode into a cloud of gas that covers a big area and limits visibility for a long time. However, it does deal less damage less frequently compared to the Scab Bomber fire grenade.
Players who are standing in the gas lose Toughness and eventually gain Corruption. At the same time their toughness regeneration is severely limited. The gas also applies a buff on enemies which makes them tougher to kill and harder to cleave through.
